WHAT WE REPAIR

Every Type of Shoe & Boot - One Expert Shop in Lebanon, New Jersey

Most people spend hours searching for a shoe repair shop, only to find kiosks that use cheap superglue. At Lebanon Leather Work, we are structural footwear experts. We don't just patch problems; we deconstruct and rebuild.

Boot Repair & Resoling

Work boots, riding boots, and hiking footwear take extreme daily abuse. We are the go-to boot repair shop for tradesmen, equestrians, and outdoorsmen who need their gear to last season after season.

  • Full Resoling & Reheeling: We strip worn treads completely and replace with authentic VibramĀ® rubber lugs, crepe soles, or oak-bark tanned leather soles - no shortcuts, no cheap substitutes.'

  • Heel Tap Replacement: The heel tap is the first part to go. We replace worn heel taps quickly before damage spreads up to the heel base and block.

  • Hardware & Zipper Repair: Broken zippers on tall riding boots, worn speed hooks, torn eyelets - all replaced and restitched to be virtually invisible.

  • Welt Stitching: Full Goodyear welt and Blake stitch reconstruction for structural integrity. We are trusted for Red Wing, Thorogood, Wolverine, and similar heritage work boot brands.

  • Boot Shaft Alterations: Calf too tight? Boot shaft too tall? We stretch, take in, shorten, or add zipper access to the shaft for a fully custom fit.

Shoe Repair

A quality pair of Allen Edmonds, Alden, or Church's is an investment worth protecting. We provide executive-level restoration that mall kiosks and general cobblers cannot match.

  • Leather Half & Full Soles: Premium oak-bark tanned leather from JR Redenbach and equivalent suppliers - the same grade used by luxury shoemakers.

  • Heel Tap & Block Rebuilding: We replace worn heel taps before they destroy the heel block. When the block itself is damaged, we rebuild and level it to correct uneven walking patterns.

  • Leather Dyeing & Patina Restoration: Deep conditioning, color restoration, wax removal, and traditional mirror-shine polishing. We also handle full shoe dyeing if you want to refresh or completely change the color of your dress shoes.

  • Toe Box Repair: Distorted or damaged toe boxes rebuilt. Open seams restitched with matching thread, so the repair is invisible.

  • Sole Protectors: Distorted or damaged toe boxes rebuilt. Open seams restitched with matching thread, so the repair is invisible.

Women’s Designer Shoe Repair

Luxury footwear requires a completely different level of precision. We protect and restore high-end investments from brands including Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Chanel, and Ferragamo.

  • Stiletto Tip Replacement: Worn metal pins removed and replaced with quiet, durable polyurethane heel dowels. Quick fix. Saves both your heels and your floors.

  • Protective Sole Guards: Ultra-thin, color-matched rubber half-soles applied to protect fragile factory leather - including Louboutin red bottoms - from concrete damage.

  • Leather Dyeing & Color Restoration: Ultra-thin, color-matched rubber half-soles applied to protect fragile factory leather - including Louboutin red bottoms - from concrete damage.

  • Strap, Elastic & Buckle Repair: Torn ankle straps restitched, stretched elastics replaced, broken buckles repaired or custom-replaced with the closest available match.

  • Toe Box & Toe Tip Repair: Scraped, cracked, or detached toe tips repaired and refinished. Wrinkled toe boxes rebuilt where structurally possible.

Footwear Alterations

A structurally sound shoe that does not fit right is just as useless as a worn-out one. We handle all kinds of fit, comfort, and structural modifications.

  • Precision Stretching: Width, toe box, instep, or boot calf stretched using professional equipment and leather-relaxing conditioning compounds. Typically gains up to a half size of comfortable breathing room.

  • Boot Shaft Alterations: Too tight around the calf? Too loose? Too tall? We can stretch the shaft, take it in, add leather or elastic panels, shorten the height, or add a zipper for easy entry - all in-shop.

  • Heel Height Modification: Slight height added to soles or heel bases for a more comfortable or elevated stance. Heels can also be slightly shortened. Possibilities depend on the shoe's construction - we advise first.

  • Insole Replacement & Orthotic Fitting: Flat or degraded factory insoles replaced with premium leather arch-support insoles. Interior volume adjusted to properly accommodate custom medical orthotics.

  • Tongue, Counter & Collar Repair: The internal structure of a shoe can break down invisibly. We rebuild heel counters, replace worn collars (the rim above the heel), and reconstruct collapsed tongues - so the shoe holds its shape properly again.

Bespoke Custom Shoe Making

Struggling to find the perfect fit off the rack, or have a highly specific design in mind? If you are searching for a true custom shoemaker near me, our Lebanon workshop designs and hand-builds entirely made-to-measure footwear.

  • Custom Foot Measurement & Lasting: We take meticulous measurements of both feet to create a personalized wooden last, ensuring your new shoes perfectly accommodate unique arch heights, widths, and orthotic needs.

  • Premium Material Selection: You control the design process by choosing from an extensive library of world-class materials, including supple full-grain calfskin, durable shell cordovan, and ethically sourced exotic leathers.

  • Hand-Welted Construction: Every pair is cut, lasted, and stitched by hand. This artisanal method guarantees a once-in-a-lifetime fit, unparalleled durability, and the ability to easily resole them for decades to come.

ā€ ā€Shoe Dyeing & Color Restoration

This is one of the most under-served shoe repair services in New Jersey. Whether your leather has faded over years of wear, has deep scuffs that won't buff out, or you want a completely different color - we handle it.

  • Full Shoe Dyeing: Old finish stripped, leather properly prepared, and professional dye applied for an even, deep, lasting result. Color changes to lighter shades may require base coating first - we will advise clearly before starting.

  • Spot Color Restoration: Targeted recoloring on scuffed toes, scratched heels, or faded sections - blended into surrounding leather so it disappears.

  • Suede Re-dyeing: Faded suede boots, shoes, or sneakers restored to their original depth of color using dye formulated specifically for napped leather.

  • Leather Refinishing & Top coating: Professional topcoats applied to restore luster and provide a protective barrier against future fading and wear.

ā€ ā€Shoe Cleaning & Stain Removal

A professional clean is often the first step of any full restoration - and sometimes all the shoe needs. We go far beyond what any at-home kit can achieve.

  • Winter Salt Stain Removal: White salt tide marks neutralized, leather reconditioned and finished. Essential for New Jersey winters. Do not let salt stains dry and crack the leather.

  • Suede & Nubuck Shampooing: Delicate suede cleaned without matting, discoloration, or crushing the nap - using products formulated for the material.

  • Mold & Mildew Treatment: Shoes stored too long? We safely treat mold and mildew before it permanently damages the leather.

  • General Deep Cleaning & Conditioning: Mud, grime, and buildup removed completely, then leather reconditioned and finished so it is protected, not just surface clean.

  • Weatherproofing & Protection: Professional-grade waterproofing waxes and sprays applied post-cleaning for lasting protection against rain, snow, and salt.

  • Shoeshine: Classic dress shoeshine using quality cream and wax polish, with optional mirror-shine finish.
