We Would Love to Hear from You -Reach Lebanon Leather Work Any Way That Works for You
We are a family-owned leather repair and restoration workshop in Lebanon, New Jersey. We have been at this since 1991, and in that time, we have learned that the best customer relationships start with a straightforward conversation - not a web form with twelve fields and a two-week wait for a response.
Whether you have a leather sofa that needs restoring, a designer bag with a broken strap, a jacket zipper that gave up, or a bespoke leather piece you want commissioned from scratch - start by reaching out. Send photos by email or Instagram, give us a call, or simply walk in. We will take it from there.
All estimates are free. We respond within one business day. No appointment is needed for drop-in visits. And we will never recommend a repair that does not make sense for your piece or your budget
Get Free Repair Estimate
Whether you're seeking a repair quote, planning a bespoke custom order, or simply want to stop by our workshop on Route 22 - we'd love to hear from you. Reach us by phone, email, or the contact form below. We respond to all inquiries within one business day.
Fill out the form below and we'll get back to you within one business day. The more detail you include, the more helpful our response will be.
What to Expect After You Reach Out.
1.We Respond Within One Business Day
Every email, DM, and voicemail is reviewed during business hours. You will hear back from us within one business day - usually much faster. If you contact us on a weekend, we will respond first thing Monday morning. We do not use automated replies or chatbots. A real person from our team reads every message and replies with a considered response.
2.We Give You a Free, Written Estimate
Once we have assessed the photos and understood the scope of the job, we provide a free written estimate - by email or in person. The estimate covers: what the repair involves, how long it will take, and what it will cost. Everything is explained clearly. We do not give vague ranges designed to allow us to charge more later. The quoted price is the price you pay. No surprises.
3.You Decide - No Pressure, No Obligation
The estimate is entirely free and carries zero obligation. You can approve it and proceed, ask questions, request a different scope, or simply say no thank you. We never pressure clients to commit. If we honestly believe a repair is not the right choice for your piece - because the cost would approach replacement value, for example - we will tell you that upfront, even if it means turning down the job. We would rather be honest and lose a sale than take your money for something we cannot stand behind.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
There is no catch. Every estimate at Lebanon Leather Work is completely free - no deposit required, no commitment expected, no obligation to proceed. We believe that a client who receives an honest, detailed estimate and then chooses to work with us is a much better foundation for the job than someone who felt pressured into it. So we give free estimates to everyone, every time. The only thing we ask is clear photos of the item and damage so we can assess properly.
-
Costs vary significantly by repair type and extent, so we always quote individually rather than giving ranges that set false expectations. That said, here are typical pricing windows to orient you: minor spot repairs (small tear, single crack, stain treatment) - $35 to $150; bag strap repair or replacement - $45 to $180; leather furniture repair - $75 to $750 depending on scope; leather jacket zipper replacement - $45 to $120; full leather sofa restoration - $300 to $900; custom leather belt -$95 to $250; custom leather wallet - $120 to $280; bespoke leather bag - $350 to $1,200+. Your specific item may fall anywhere in these ranges depending on the exact scope of work. Send us photos and we will give you a precise number.
-
Yes - always. If the cost of a repair approaches or exceeds the cost of a reasonable replacement, or if the leather is damaged beyond a point where repair would produce an acceptable result, we will tell you that during the estimate stage. We have turned down jobs where the honest answer was "replacement makes more financial sense here." That is not good for our revenue in the short term, but it is the right thing to do, and clients who receive that honest answer tend to refer others to us more than clients who received an expensive repair they did not really need.
-
No appointment is needed for drop-in visits during business hours - Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. Walk in, bring your piece, and we will assess it and give you a free estimate before you leave. The only exceptions: if you have a very large piece (a full sofa, a set of restaurant chairs, a saddle with extensive work needed), or a multi-piece corporate order - for those, a quick call or email ahead of time helps us set aside the right time for you.
-
Yes. We accept shipped leather goods from clients across the United States who want access to specialist leather repair without compromising on quality. Before you ship anything, please contact us first - email lebanonleatherwork@gmail.com with photos and a description so we can confirm the scope, provide a written estimate, and give you specific packing guidance for your item type. Once we agree on the work, ship to 1271 US-22, Lebanon, NJ 08833. We photograph the piece on receipt and again on completion, and we arrange return shipping - tracked and insured - at your cost. We work on shipped items from New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and clients from across the country.
-
For very minor repairs - a loose button, a simple stitch fix, a strap re-attachment where no fabrication is needed - we will often assess on the spot and tell you if it is something we can handle quickly. However, quality leather repair is not a while-you-wait service. Leather fillers, dyes, and topcoats require curing time between stages, and rushing that process produces inferior results. If someone offers you a same-hour leather repair, the quality of the result reflects the time they spent on it. We do not work that way. We take the time the job requires.
-
We contact you directly as soon as your piece is ready for collection or dispatch - by phone or email, whichever you prefer. For pieces being shipped, we photograph the finished item and share the image with you before packing, so you can see the result before it arrives. We never release a piece without your awareness that it is complete.

Yes. We regularly repair designer leather bags, jackets, and accessories from brands including Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Dooney & Bourke, Longchamp, Ted Baker, Mulberry, and MCM, as well as luxury automotive interiors in BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, and Range Rover vehicles. For ultra-luxury labels (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Hermès, Saint Laurent), we assess individually and are honest about the best approach for pieces at that level. We treat every item - regardless of brand or value - with the same precision and care. Email photos and we will give you an honest assessment and quote.
-
Yes. Faux leather, PU vinyl, and bonded leather each require different repair techniques than genuine leather, and we work with all of them. Peeling bonded leather and deteriorating PU are among our more frequently requested repairs -and while these materials are more challenging to repair than genuine leather, the results we achieve are significantly better than most clients expect going in. We assess the material and damage honestly before quoting, and we will tell you if a repair is not achievable on a particular material rather than take your money for an inadequate result.
-
Colour matching is one of the most critical skills in leather repair - and one of the things we are most particular about. We custom mix every dye batch by eye against your actual leather, test it on a hidden section before applying to the repair area, and adjust until the match is exact in both pigment and surface finish level (matte, semi-gloss, or gloss). We do not use off-the-shelf dye kits with fixed colour options. In the vast majority of repairs, the colour match is invisible to the human eye at normal viewing distance. In cases where we know in advance that a perfect match will be difficult - very aged leather with complex fading profiles, for example - we will tell you that honestly in the estimate and show you what we can realistically achieve.
-
We are proud of our work and our standard is high - but we are also human, and leather is a natural material with characteristics that occasionally affect outcomes in ways that are difficult to predict entirely. If you collect your piece and are not satisfied with the result, contact us immediately. We will look at the issue together, assess what went wrong or fell short of your expectation, and find the right resolution. We do not hide behind small print. If a repair fails or produces a result, we are not happy with either, we fix it. Our reputation is built on doing the right thing when something is not quite right, not just when everything goes well.
-
We provide care guidance specific to your leather type and the repair performed with every completed job. As a general rule: keep leather away from prolonged direct sunlight and heat sources; condition regularly (every 6 to 12 months for furniture, every 3 to 6 months for bags and outerwear); clean with a product appropriate to your specific leather type, never with standard household cleaners or baby wipes; and address any new damage promptly rather than allowing it to spread. If you are ever unsure about a care product or method, contact us before applying anything - we are always happy to advise.
